Wings and Badges

Top the ribbon set (DFC and Africa star with clasp) worn during the last stages of the war.

Below left the flying boot or winged boot that was awarded to members of the "Late Arrivals Club". a Pilot qualify for this if he got shot down and then arrived back at the squadron after a long period of time.

Top is Bomb's RAF wings he received at the Flight Training unit in Southern Rhodesia that was fully under RAF command. When he joined 5 SAAF squadron for a short period in 1941 he was ordered by OC Jack Frost to replace the RAF wings with SAAF wings 2nd from the top.
