Bomb had his own camera with him in the operational areas and has a fine collection of photographs. Bomb told me that the possession and use of a private camera in the operational area was "strictly forbidden".
Here published the complete photograph collection of co-pilot Tom Meek. Tom was a pal of Bomb Finney during the desert campaign.
Paul Connell, (son of co-pilot Ray Connell), obtained the photographs from Mark Penberthy and published it on a web site dedicated to 1 Squadron. (click here to go to this web site). Mark Penberthy's dad (Vivian "Red" Penberthy) also flew in 1 squadron and that is how Tom Meek's photographs ended up with Mark.
